HISTORY

Cold pressed Grape-Seed Oil has been known since ancient times, and is once more gaining pop-ularity. For the first time it is now processed in Germany from seeds of sun ripened grapes.

DEMAND

The increasing world-wide demand for healthier, more natural products is creating a growing market for cold pressed Grape-Seed Oil in the culinary, cosmetic and medical fields.

ANTI-OXIDANT

From a health point of view cold pressed Grape-Seed Oil is like-wise superior. The CSIR analysis confirms one of the highest levels of Poly- and mono unsaturated fatty acids and high levels of vitamin E. Grape-Seed Oil is also the only food known to raise HDL and to lower LDL.

Grape-Seed Oil is 72% linoleic acid, which is also an Omega 6 fatty acid.

Due to the presence of high levels of oli-gomeric pro-anthocyanidins (OPC), Grape-Seed Oil is an anti-oxidant, which makes it a respectable healer.

HIGH BLOOD CHOLESTEROL

High levels of cholesterol in the bloodstream can lead to a build-up of cholesterol in the walls of the arteries, reducing the blood supply to the heart and increasing the risk of heart attack. Blood cholesterol is influenced by the amount of fat, especially saturated fat, in our diet. CSIR analysis of cold pressed cape grape-seed oil confirms the highest levels of poly- and mono unsaturated fatty acids and high levels of vitamin E.

HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE

Often called the “silent killer”, because in most people it has no symptoms. High blood pressure increases the work load of the heart causing the heart muscle to thicken and arteries to stretch.

Cold pressed grape-seed oil includes high density of lipoprotein which reduces high blood pressure.

DIABETES

The foods that we eat in our diet are digested and metabolised by the body from sugar (glucose), which is absorbed into the bloodstream after eating a meal. Insulin, a hormone produced by the pancreas, is responsible for transporting this sugar from the blood in to the cells, where it is converted into energy for the body.

Coronary heart disease, kidney damage and poor eyesight are some of the long-term complications of diabetes.

A major problem experienced by diabetics is poor blood circulation.

Poor blood circulation can lead to tissue damage, which in turn can trigger a number of complications such as high cholesterol levels, retinopathy, neuropathy and vascular diseases. Diabetic retinophathy occurs when the small blood vessels or capillaries that nourish the retina deteriorate due to insufficient blood flow. This results in impaired vision and may eventually lead to blindness.

Procyanidin improves circulation, including to the to the capillaries, and strengthens the callogen in the capillary walls, it helps to stop further deterioration of the retina. Taken at an early stage of the illness, it can play a preventative role. Procyanidin are regularly precribed to diabetes to prevent retinophathy or stop further deterioration.

VIRILITY

There are more and more and more serious scientists who see the ageing process in humans as a result of the damage done by free radicals. The fight against these aggressive attackers means a delay of the ageing process: the cells in the body remain healthy for longer, their functioning is improved and one gets fewer illnesses. The attack on free radicals gives one a longer, healthier and zestier life. As far as zest for life is concerned: cold pressed grape-seed oil affects the libido!!

These aphrodisiac components used to be ascribed to Vitamin E, but recent discoveries of the effects of procyanidin on the vascular system and in the fight against free radicals mean more virility.

Cold pressed grape-seed oil is 76 % linoleic acid. Interesting, low levels of HDL are also related to impotence. Research results show that as HDL levels decrease, the probability of impotence increases.

Low HDL levels are also a significant risk factor for impotence. A 1994 study (Journal of Urology) of 1,290 men, 40 to 70 years old, found several factors which contributed to a higher probability of impotence. Age was the predominant factor, as the prevalence of complete impotence tripled from 5% to 15% between ages 40 to 70. After adjusting for age, the other main factors were heart disease, hypertension, diabetes, personality type, and HDL level.

The probability of impotence varied inversely with high density lipoprotein cholesterol. For the younger men in the study (from 40 to 55 years old) , the likelihood of developing moderate impotence almost quadrupled from 6,7% to 25% as their HDL levels decreased from 90 mg to 30 mg per deciliter of blood.

For the older men in the study (from 56 to 70 years old), the probability of complete impotence increased from near zero to 16% as their HDL levels correspondingly decreased.

PARKINSON`S DISEASE

This is a neurological disease affecting the nervous system in middle-aged or elderly people. It affects 1,5% of Western populations over 65 of age.

The cause of this condition is a decrease in dopamine, a neurotransmitter that carries impulses in the brain. This is probably due to environmental and body-formed nerve poisons, and not to a virus, as once was believed. These poisons are toxic substances as well as oxidised products formed in the brain. The oxidised products develop when a shortage of vitamins A and D occur.

Conventional treatment has been to administer a forerunner of dopamine known as levodopa. It is useless administrering dopamine as it cannot cross into the brain, whereas levodopa can cross the brain barrier. The important fact is that the compound causing the conversion of levodopa to dopamine in the brain is vitamin B6. The loss of the highly important vitamins B6, A and E in the refined Western diets must therefor play a significant role in the aggravation of Parkinson`s disease.

Cape grape-seed oil is a good source of vitamin E.

BRAIN

Apart from delaying the ageing process and maintaining vitality, one also has to mention those parts of the vascular system which supply the brain with blood. Procyanidin improves the capillary action of the vascular system.

A good blood supply to the brain means a better functioning brain. The dying of cells in the brain is delayed by the procyanidin in cold pressed grape-seed oil.

EYES

Procyanidin is also used in organ therapy, and to treat ailments related to the retina, which respond well to doses of beta-carotene.
More interesting is the interaction of cold pressed grape-seed oil with other foodstuffs – for example carrots: it is known that they contain beta-carotene, which is a antioxidant we become more and more familiar with.

High tech science has confirmed to us the correctness of the old empirical assertion that carrots are good for the eyes. For the body to make optimum use of beta-carotene, an aid is required to improve the absorption in the body. This is the function of cold pressed grape-seed oil.

Beta-carotene is a provitamin. It is called provitamin because the body is able to convert it (as well as other carotenoids) to vitamin A. Vitamin A has several functions in the system. The best known is to aid sight.

SKIN

Already during the middle ages it was known that small wounds, especially skin grazes, would heal quickly if treated with grape-seed oil. The same applies to several skin diseases.

Women and men of the middle ages used grape-seed oil as a cosmetic, because it was known that this oil kept the skin beautifully and healthy and elastic.

Even today a lot of chemists use grape-seed oil as a basis for creams and ointments prescribed by dermatologists. Cold pressed grape-seed oil is used successfully against nappy-rash on babies and there are no side-effects, especially not burning. It is important to keep the oil away from one's eyes.

Latest research confirms the strong effect of cold pressed grape-seed oil in the fight against free radicals which, especially in strong sunlight or when there are harmful substances in the air, occur in the upper layers of the skin.

Natural cold pressed grape-seed oil has the further advantage that it is absorbed easily. It gives a very pleasant feeling to the skin. It can be applied directly to the skin e.g as an aftershave or as a carrier oil under your moisturiser or even a few drops in your bath.

This practical, pleasant attribute, and the high content of Vitamin E as well as procyanidin as a strong fighter against free radicals are the reason why cold pressed grape-seed oil is at the beginning career in modern cosmetics.

ARTHRITIS

Arthritis is the inflammation of the human joints, which causes the breakdown of the cartilage in the joints. Cartilage acts as a cushioning material to protect the joint against friction. Procyanidin helps to repair cillagen of the cartilage, thereby improving flexibility of the joints. It also inhibits the enzymes and prostaglandins that lead to inflammation, bringing relief from pain without the side effects caused by commercial anti-inflammatory compounds.

ACNE

If old portraits, photos and paintings are an indication, acne was either absent or extremely rare before the 1900`s. The present most accepted form of treatment is retinoids, which are formed by vitamin A. Like vitamin E, vitamin A is removed from practically all refined foods. Because these vitamins are fat soluble, they are removed to lengthen the shelf live of certain foodstuffs. Supplementation with zinc, magnesium, vitamin C , vitamin E, and vitamin A is advised.

Cold pressed grape-seed oil is a good source of vitamin B Alpha and vitamin E.

COLON (BOWEL) CANCER

Its one of the biggest killers, second only to lung cancer – and yet it can be curable if caught early on. Unfortunately, we`re often to embarrassed to go to the doctor`s about the sometimes confusing symptoms.

Even when your own doctor tells you to get our colon checked (screened by colonoscopy), we don`t always listen.

“What you eat and how you exercise can dramatically reduce your chances of developing the disease.”

Potty talk is for two-year-olds, not grownups.

There are probably more myths and misconceptions about colon cancer than about any other killer disease. Young people think only old people get it. Women think only men get it.

If youre serious about protecting yourself and your loved ones against colorectal cancer, it will help to know something about the disease. Nearly all colon cancers starts as polyps, tiny grapelike projections that sprout on the inside of the large intestine. Most of the time these growths are benign, but occasionally a collection of cells will get bigger and bigger until it turns into a tumor. About 25% of these malignant growths are triggered by genetic predisposition that has been present since birth. The rest of the time, normal genes become damaged with age or exposure to the toxic brew of wastes that collect in the colon.

“Prevention is better than cure”

What can you do? You can`t change your genes, but you can improve your odds for survival. Making a few changes to your lifestyle. There is evidence that natural compounds found in fruits and vegetables can help protect against colon cancer. Besides, fruits, vegetables and cold pressed grape-seed oil lower your blood pressure and help protect your heart.

The best way to beat colon cancer today is to catch it early – and that means regular screening.

Cold pressed grape-seed oil adverse inflammatory responses, and enhanced immune function and wound healing.

SAFE

It has been reported by Professor Jack Masquelier of Bordeaux that during 40 years of using procyanidin from cold pressed grape seed oil in therapy he never heard of side or after effects or any other negative reaction from his patients.

It can be taken in combination with any medication and is absolutely safe for use by elderly people, pregnant women or children.

CATARACTS

Recent research has linked antioxidant deficiencies to cataract development. The antioxidant normally protect the sensitive proteins in the eye lens. When there isn`t sufficient antioxidant protection, the proteins can oxidize in the lens, causing it to cloud and scatter light.

Antioxidant levels in a cataracted lens are a fraction of those in a healthy lens. Several researchers have found that they can slow or halt the growth of cataracts by having their patients take supplements of the antioxidant nutrients, thus normalizing the antioxidant levels of the lens.

ALLERGIES

Chemical hypersensitivities are often caused by free-radical reactions. Some seemingly inert chemicals can be converted into potent free-radical generators by the actions of body enzymes as they metabolize the foreign chemicals in an attempt to remove them from the body.

Many people who are allergic (sensitive) to various chemicals have found that their allergies disappeared soon after taking antioxidant nutrients for some other reason such as protection against cancer or heart disease.
